Funny how mainstream mindfulness has become. This guy was one of the strong voices.

Everything fades with awareness of this present moment.

What they do not tell you is that the mind can function almost miraculously when all the crap has been integrated. “Who am I?”. Has no subject. Rick Hanson detailed the way we create our own ego for identity out of last unrelated memories we weave into a story of us.

The trick is to not follow the ego when it brings all those thoughts, doubts. Guilt and shame with us. Stop letting the ego judge your life. Enjoy a meal without placing it in any order with previous meals. Be aware of this moment and get to know your inner world.

Stand observe an emotion once without engaging it. See where the body epsensations for emotions style. The mind free of worry guilt and thought can function at a higher level.

Be present following the breath, observing life,,experiencing all of it. Pick, out a flower and stare at it for a full minute. Realize you are going to draw it after that minute. See how much detail you can remember. The stem contrast, intensity, color, shape etc. you will be present. See how much you noticed that you have been missing. Miracles are right in front of us.

The idea of eating a raisen for the first time….exploring it with new eyes. I like this guy cos he doesn’t use unnessesary jargon like someone like Echart Tolle, which appeals to someone like me.
Totally agree with you btw, and thanks for stopping by 😉 x
